My Journey to Independence

Born, raised and educated in the Ilkley area, I was then given an opportunity to work for my friend’s family run business in Ilkley. I learnt a lot here about hard work and respect for customers and colleagues. After three years I thought it was time to move on, I decided to get a trade behind me.

I started an apprenticeship in painting and decorating at Keighley College. After qualifying at NVQ level 2 & 3 I also received Apprentice of the year and CITB Student of the Year.

Since then I have been in the decorating trade since 2002 and self employed since 2006, working in the Ilkley, Otley and Harrogate areas mainly improving residential properties working closely with customers on a one to one basis.

How am I different to other decorators. (and why its important)

• I respond when contacted. (even if I don’t think its a good fit)

• I am DBS Certified. (trustworthiness is the most important thing to me)

• I am not VAT registered (20% cheaper than those who are)

• I’m qualified (I know how to get that extra level of long lasting quality. )
